Caterham Cars has just opened the UK order book for 2014 Caterham Seven 160. It’s new entry-level is a variant of the iconic sports car that is powered by a super-compact, turbocharged Suzuki engine.
This new edition redefines the budget sports car segment while at the same time introducing brand new levels of efficiency and value for the money.
According to Caterham Cars CEO, this car is more economical, more accessible, fun on the road, and has a very unique personality. The production of this car is expected to begin January 2014 and the deliveries most likely to start in spring 2014.

Engine & Performance
To meet desired performance criteria, the engineers’ fine tuned this car’s engine performance from its standard output. This new car packs a minuscule 660cc turbocharged 3 cylinder engine from Suzuki.
The engine produces 80 horsepower; this is more than the 64 horsepower it gives out before Caterham engineers got their hands on it.
This car is light but still has enough muscle to hustle it up from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds to with a top speed of 100 mph. While boosting the fuel economy and reduce vehicle emissions, this car clearly conforms to EU5, JCO8, and the EU6 emissions regulations.
Other basic features include a 5- speed manual gear box.
Exterior
The Seven 160 has a new rear axle which is a throwback to the early Sevens in terms of purity and simplicity of design.
The Caterham Seven 160 features a set of 14 inches steel wheels covered in skinny 155- section tires and joined together with a live hub back suspension.
